Job Description

Prickett Jones, a 16-attorney law firm located in Wilmington, Delaware, is seeking a Business Manager to oversee the operation of the firm, with primary responsibility for managing and monitoring the firm’s financial and accounting tasks. The Business Manager will be responsible for financial reporting and planning, accounting, payroll, budgets, billing, fee and expense allocations, cash requirements, invoice review and payments, 401(k) administration, tax payments, insurance applications and renewals, interfacing with outside accountants and auditors, coordinating special projects such as building renovations and repairs, and collaborating with the firm’s Assistant Business Manager and attorney Directors.

Success in the position requires a combination of analytical thinking, organization, self-starting capabilities and the ability to plan and execute a project from start to finish. Flexibility, strong communication skills and ability to work independently and efficiently are essential.

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years of experience in a law firm or other professional service organization with at least 2 years’ experience as a controller or chief financial officer, proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook and competence with QuickBooks are required. Compensation is commensurate with skill and experience and benefits include profit sharing, health insurance, paid parking and paid time off.
