SENIOR LECTURER IN QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS FOR ORGANIZATIONS

The Johns Hopkins University seeks highly qualified candidates for a full-time teaching position in the Center for Leadership Education (CLE). The CLE offers renewable, one-year contracts that, with appropriate review, become eligible for longer-term contracts and promotion to senior lecturer. All positions in the Center are non-tenured, but recently Johns Hopkins has instituted a new teaching professorship career path for which all full-time lecturerships in the CLE become eligible.

The CLE is a vibrant, interdisciplinary center in the Whiting School of Engineering, trains leaders to make an impact on the world and utilizes experience-based, active learning techniques in all of its courses. The Center contains several, interrelated academic programs: the W. P. Carey Program in Entrepreneurship and Management, the Accounting & Financial Management Program, the Professional Communication Program (PCP), The Professional Development Program (PDP), the Leadership Studies Program, the Masters of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM), and the Masters of Science in Global Innovation and Leadership (MSIL). Faculty in the CLE offer courses in the following areas: accounting and finance, leadership, organizational behavior, operations management, data analytics, venture development, marketing, law, engineering management, and professional communication.

Qualifications:

The CLE seeks an individual with a versatile and professional background capable of showing students how to use accounting and finance as tools within an organization to better the workplace and enable the organization to prosper; experience in large corporations/organizations and/or consulting is a plus. Candidates should have demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level or in corporate or graduate venues and must be strategic thinkers, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and be willing to work collaboratively in teams and with colleagues. An advanced degree is a requirement; Master’s Degree holders (including MBAs) are welcome. A CPA, CMA or CFA certification is strongly preferred. Candidates must be qualified to teach in three of the following quantitative areas as applied to the rigorous assessment of organizations:

• Managerial accounting
• Managerial finance
• Financial planning and analysis
